2007 Fleet Officers

Commodore

Karl Brogger:
Hales from Sogn, MN, not a 1000 feet from the house he gew up in.  Wise beyond years, he is a competitive racer on his very new Hobie 16.  Road trips to cruising locations are also an enjoyable aspect of his sailing experience.  Karl's Hobie 14 also gets some water time now and then.  Sailing is his premier diversion so Minnesota winters get long.  Playing video games and managing his cabinet shop help pass the time until the soft water arives in this part of the world.

Vice Commodore

Reb Blanchard:
A transplant from "back east".  Memories of Buzzards Bay, Cape Cod and Pamlico Sound, NC, cause a yearning for big water.  As a result, Reb is the driving force behind the cruising events on Lake Pepin and Lake Superior (Apostle Islands).  He also enjoys the distance races on Leech Lake.  What he's really after is a venue to stretch the legs of his Hobie 18SX "Stray Hobie Cat", or, as others call it, "FrankenHobie".  You'll have to look hard to see it when his monstrous spinnaker is deployed.  Reb also has a Hobie 14 that he brings to the regional Division 7 events.

Reb is a master with a cast iron pan over a fire.  If you're lucky, he'll regale you with stories of sailing an open ocean leg across the top of the Virgin Islands and island hopping among the Apostle Islands.

Treasurer

Rick Adams:
Don't blink or you'll miss Rick!  He doesn't sit still for long.  If he's not hot-rodding his Hobie 17 or tinkering with his Hobie 14, he's sailing keelboats on Lake Minnetonka or small boats on Lake Harriet.  And if he's not there he's probably in Florida cruising the Intercoastal Waterway on his Hobie 17.  Then again, he might be crewing for a rock star on an Inter 20 anywhere east of the Mississippi.  When the water isn't cooperating up north he breaks out the downhill skis.  Rick is a patient teacher and is an instructor for both sailing and skiing.
